Filip's diving career began at the age of 23. A few years later, he started with underwater photography and made his first photos in the Red Sea. He bought his first Sea & Sea Motormarine underwater camera and equipped it with lenses and strobes from Sea & Sea. In 2000, he started participating in photography competitions and has since achieved over 200 national and international podium places.
Some of his greatest achievements include: 5-time winner of the Belgian championship (2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2023), winner of the Open Dutch Championship (2016), including 3 consecutive wins in the Freshwater category (2020, 2021, and 2022). The David Doubilet Award (2015) and the Jim Church Award (2013) for excellence and creativity in photography at Beneath The Sea (USA), first place for Creative Vision at Ocean Geographic in Australia (2018), World Champion at Underwaterphotography.com in the USA (2018), and a silver and bronze medal in the Fish Portrait category at the CMAS World Underwater Photography Championship (2021 and 2019). |

Filip is ambassador for AmilcoSports, Sea & Sea Benelux and Xpozer. Amilco Sports is an importer and distributor of renowed diving brands. Sea & Sea Benelux is importer of underwater photography equipment and Xpozer is a manufacturer of sharp photo prints with interchangeable frames.
